Duties & Responsibilities of Management Information System ( MIS ) Officer or Executive



The major duties include assisting the MIS Manager in various tasks that include, but
are not limited to:

  • Perform duties in the absence of the MIS Manager
  • Assist the MIS Manager with administrative and technical functions.
  • Responsible for maintaining servers and workstations as requested by the MIS Manager
  • Perform system diagnosis, repair and updates to ensure data integrity
    and reliability of automated tasks.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving problems with printers, copiers,
     fax machines and networks.
  • Provide help-desk and on-site technical support of hardware and software.
  • Interface with users to identify computer related needs and provide
    appropriate software/hardware support applicable to those needs.
  • Ensure the anti-virus software is always up to date and share necessary
    information with users regarding potential risks.
  • Monitor, order and distribute computer supplies.
  • Provide instruction to staff on the use of computer applications and systems.
  • Generate reports as requested by the MIS Manager.
  • Ensure routine backups are performed as outlined by the Backup & Restore Manual.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating of web site and intranet.
  • Any other duties as requested by the MIS
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent any other professional experience
  • Strong communications skills both oral & written and ability to practice
  • both downward and upward communication.
  • Experience in interacting with senior management.
  • A demonstrated ability to implement management directives with little direct supervision.
  • A demonstrated ability to co-ordinate hardware and software maintenance contracts.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years experience in MIS or performing similar duties.
